The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company
embraces theatre as a vehicle for social
empowerment founded by the visionary artist
and philanthropist Laura Leigh Hughes.
Providing free access to dozens of
year-long youth theatre residencies focused on
the creation and performance of original plays
as well as exposure to professional theatre
performances, The Unusual Suspects has
evolved from a local program serving roughly
50 participants into a robust program that
served over 3,500 youth in over 20 communities
of Los Angeles in 2023 alone.
The Unusual Suspects needed help with their first fully digital annual fundraising create-a-thon campaign due to the pandemic. The money raised during the campaign helps to fund the continued virtual theater-arts programming from page to stage. We collaborated to produce digital and print invitations, a comprehensive magazine (both printed and digitally enhanced) to entice and educate sponsors, and a digital presentation deck to guide them through the create-a-thon process.
THE CHALLENGE
This campaign was a success, raising over $252K and winning a GDUSA award.
